Our delicious Bao Zhong that is smooth, sweet and refreshing. Lightly oxidised and masterfully finished to create a beautiful balance of a fresh green style oolong and high floral fragrance.

Its name in Chinese, translates to "the wrapped kind", referring to a practice of wrapping the leaves in paper during the drying process that has largely been discontinued due to advancement in tea processing.

This exceptional Bao Zhong was awarded a Silver Medal at the 2019 Royal Agricultural Society of Tasmania Fine Food Awards.

New Taipei is in northernmost tea growing region in Taiwan. It is home of some of the oldest tea farms on the island and it famous for its mountains, rich tea culture and refreshing light green style oolongs.

Elevation: 400-600m

A sweet and rounded tea that follows the nose delivering floral and melon flavours and freshness on the palate. 

Wenshan Bao Zhong pairs well with lightly spiced foods, salty foods, smoked foods, shellfish, desserts with honey and fruit salad. 

This tea is an excellent choice for a cold brewed tea served over ice with some chilled fruit.

Try this tea with seared scallops with cucumber and mango salsa or with a sweet pancakes.

Leaf appearance: Large green-dark green leaves that are lightly twisted along their length

Aroma: A delicate floral bouquet balanced with sweet melon notes

Liquor colour: Pale golden yellow

Brewing & Storage

Store in an airtight container away from light, heat and moisture.
