Our wild grown Lapsang Souchong is medium-bodied, smooth and comforting. It has a distinct fruitiness, reminiscent of peach, with floral undertones and a distinct creamy lingering sweetness on the palate.
This tea will mellow over the next 6 months with highlighted notes reminiscent to cream and ripened peach.
This is one of those teas where patience and persistence will reward the tea enthusiast. The more you drink this tea the more you will enjoy it. It has an unexpected strength and can brew over a number of infusions ‘gong fu cha’ style.

Processing highlights: Our Lapsang Souchong is oxidised by placing the leaves in a basket with a wet cloth placed over the top. The baskets are placed in a warm room and slowly oxidised over a period of 4-5 hours until the tea is around 80% oxidised. The tea is subsequently pan-fried over high temperature to dry and finish the tea.

Try this with a dessert cheeseboard with dried muscatels and figs or with a buttery peach crostata.
