A practical hands-on discovery of pure leaf tea and the different tea making approaches available to enhance your enjoyment of leaf tea. This workshop will provide you a practical introduction to tea (camellia sinensis), different preparation methods, brewing vessels and cultural traditions. 

Designed as an immersive experience, each participant will prepare and brew their own teas as we explore and discuss the attributes and brewing elements to achieve your preferred aroma and taste.

Join our tea brewing skills masterclass as we look at small and large teapot brewing, stacked steeping and cold brew methods to be able to enjoy different experiences with tea at home.  

During this 2 hour tasting journey you will be introduced to the botanicals of tea with a focus on origin, terroir and provenance to gain an understanding of pure leaf tea (camellia sinensis). 

Date: Sunday, 6 June 2021

Duration: 2 - 4 pm (120 minutes).  

Tea Snacks: You will receive a small plate of savoury and sweet light snacks to make your tea experience a little more special. If you do have any dietary requirements please notify me directly.

Our Tea Essentials brewing skills masterclass is suitable for anyone that has an interest in tea. The content of the workshop has been developed for those with no pre-assumed tea knowledge.

This workshop may not be suitable for people with caffeine sensitivity as all of our pure leaf teas contain caffeine. 

As with all things we also have some rules.

COVID safe events

We follow the protocols set out in Queensland Government's COVID safe event checklist. Please appreciate in this current climate rapid changes to events can occur. While we will do our best to deliver the event as planned, modifications may be required, at short notice.


Seating will be arranged based on the booking numbers. If you have purchased individual tickets but would like to sit together as a group please email me to arrange.  

Meals & Dietary Requirements
If the workshop includes meals, attendees are asked to notify The Steepery Tea Co. of any special dietary requirements when making the booking.

Payment and cancellation procedures
Where charges apply, The Steepery Tea Co.workshops must be paid for in advance by credit or debit card.

We are unable to issue refunds or exchanges for cancellation on the part of the attendee. However, tickets can be transferred to another guest for the same session.

The Steepery Tea Co. reserves the right to cancel or alter any workshop. All workshop dates and times are subject to change, but The Steepery Tea Co. will endeavour to ensure workshops are held on the committed dates/times, unless there are exceptional circumstances, such as the host/s being unable to attend due to illness, or other unforeseen circumstances. The Steepery Tea Co. will inform the participants with as much notice as possible on these occasions.

We require a minimum of 10 attendees for the workshop to go ahead. In the event that the workshop does not go ahead as scheduled, you will be offered a refund in full. 

Should a cancellation become necessary by the The Steepery Tea Co. the attendee will have the choice of attending an alternative workshop (and where this is a lower price, The Steepery Tea Co. will refund the difference), or withdrawing from the workshop and, where applicable, accepting a refund of the cost of that specific workshop to The Steepery Tea Co.

No cancellation penalties (including travel expenses to and from the workshop, or accommodation costs) will be paid out in the event of workshop cancellations by The Steepery Tea Co.
