Our fixation on tea sourcing

By Kym Cooper. Posted

I have been wanting to write this blog post for some time and as I am in Japan on a tea study tour it seems timely to share our thoughts as we hope to make some new sourcing connections.   Tea sourcing has been an interesting journey and one we have fixated on since opening our online doors in 2015. Our core focus is getting better at the business of sourcing tea for our customers. We spend hours of time into searching, networking, cupping, connecting and maintaining relationships in tea.  The business of tea sourcing is very much relationship based built over...

A collection of new Taiwanese oolongs has landed

By Kym Cooper. Posted

Taiwan has a special place in my heart. Not only do they produce exceptional pure leaf tea; I was born there. For those...

As a tea lover I feel it is a responsibility to see pure leaf tea being enjoyed and appreciated more widely. The challenge I have in my local market is that ‘real’ pure leaf tea, the tea produced from a specific variety or cultivar of the Camelia Sinensis tea plant,...

Tea Mastery: A lifelong journey

By Kym Cooper. Posted

To cap off an extremely fulfilling and exciting year for me personally I was very honoured to receive this in the mail during the week. I have been a tea enthusiast for many years. Apart from drinking many a cup of tea, I love reading extensively on tea and my teaware collection is burgeoning to a point where dedicated cabinets have had to be purchased to house them. I have spent a good portion of my global travels as a tea tourist visiting tea estates and gardens, learning from tea masters, sitting with tea shop owners and soaking up the...
