A classic white tea from Fujian, China. Soft floral aromas and gentle stone fruit sweetness unfold across a velvety palate, finishing clean with delicate honeyed notes and lingering elegance.
Origin
Origin
Bai Mu Dan (White Peony) is produced in the mountainous tea-growing regions of northern Fujian Province, the historic birthplace of white tea. The gardens sit amongst fertile soils and a subtropical climate, often surrounded by the region's characteristic sea of clouds that help create ideal growing conditions.
Crafted from the traditional Bai Mu Dan plucking standard of one bud and two young leaves, this tea is made from the Da Bai cultivar, prized for producing white teas with depth, sweetness and elegant floral character.
Careful withering and drying preserve the leaf's natural freshness, creating a tea that balances delicate aromatics with a fuller body than many other white teas. The result is a refined expression of white tea that showcases both purity and complexity.
Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes
The liquor is a clear golden-yellow, with lifted aromatics of white blossoms, fresh hay and ripe orchard fruit. On the palate, the tea is soft and velvety, offering notes of apricot, meadow flowers and delicate honeyed sweetness balanced by a gentle savoury depth. Its rounded texture unfolds gradually through successive infusions, revealing layers of freshness, fruit and quiet complexity.
Its persistence across multiple steeps invites unhurried drinking, rewarding attention with a lingering finish that is both calming and expressive.
Pairs well with fresh ricotta, mild soft cheeses, almond biscuits, poached stone fruits and light savoury dishes — or simply on its own as a contemplative afternoon cup.
