A Japanese roasted green tea powder. Biscuity roast, silky texture, and a warming finish with roasted nut depth.

Origin

This Hōjicha powder is grown and produced by the Watanabe family on Yakushima Island, in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. Yakushima’s lush environment and clean growing conditions shape teas with distinctive clarity and depth. Made from the Kanayamidori cultivar and roasted to develop warmth and sweetness, this is a comforting, contemporary take on traditional Japanese roasted tea.

Produced in Spring, it offers a beautifully aromatic cup with a smooth finish and an unmistakable roasted character.

Tasting Notes

Aromatic and grounding, this Hōjicha powder brings notes of biscuits, toasted grain, and roasted nuts. The palate is smooth and rounded, with a soft sweetness that carries through to a warm, lingering finish. It’s deeply comforting without bitterness and works beautifully across both traditional and modern preparations.

Pairs beautifully with pastries, vanilla desserts, chocolate, or as a gentle after-dinner drink.
