A celebrated Phoenix Mountain oolong from Guangdong, China. Orchid florals, ripe stone fruit and honeyed sweetness unfold across a rich, full-bodied palate, finishing long and fragrant with remarkable depth.
Origin
Origin
Mi Lan Xiang (Honey Orchid Aroma) is produced in the Phoenix Mountains (Feng Huang Shan) of Guangdong Province, one of China's most celebrated oolong-growing regions. Sourced from Lizai Ping Village at an elevation of approximately 1,200 metres, this tea reflects centuries of Dan Cong tea-making tradition.
The name Mi Lan Xiang translates to "Honey Orchid Fragrance", a cultivar prized for its remarkable aromatic complexity. Harvested in Spring 2027 and finished with a traditional charcoal roast, this tea balances floral elegance with fruit richness and depth.
The result is a tea of striking character—aromatic, layered and enduring across many infusions.
Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes
The liquor is a brilliant amber-gold, opening with expressive aromatics of orchid blossom, ripe peach and lychee. On the palate, the tea is rich and full-bodied, revealing layers of stone fruit, honey and roasted almond beneath its floral perfume. A gentle charcoal warmth provides structure without overshadowing the tea's natural elegance.
With each infusion, new dimensions emerge, creating a tea that is both captivating and deeply rewarding. Its persistence and complexity invite slow exploration, revealing why Phoenix Dan Congs are among China's most revered oolongs.
Pairs well with almond pastries, stone fruit desserts, seafood, aromatic spices and rich savoury dishes such as five-spice duck — or simply enjoyed on its own as a tea for attentive drinking.
