Origin
Origin
Mirai Wakocha is a first flush Japanese black tea (wakōcha) sourced from Kawanehoncho Aobe in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan — a region celebrated for high-quality tea production. This tea is grown and crafted by Etsuro Masui, a pioneer in Japanese black tea production who began developing Wakōcha in 1984, and cultivated a unique cultivar named Mirai (meaning “future”), inspired by his daughter
Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes
Mirai Wakocha brews to a clear, fresh liquor with a delightful rose-like fragrance and subtle notes of cherry and spice. The character is semi-sweet and medium-bodied, marrying gentle fruit sweetness with a clean, refreshing lift. Its floral quality and approachable structure make this tea an elegant example of Japanese black tea, distinguished from stronger blacks while retaining expressive depth.
This tea is naturally refreshing and rewarding in both warm and cold preparations — the floral, semi-sweet profile works beautifully with light desserts, soft cheeses, or on its own as a gentle, uplifting cup.
