A traditional smoked black tea from Tong Mu Guan, China. Intense pine smoke gives way to wild honey, dark fruit and old-bush depth, creating a full-bodied tea with remarkable length and presence.

Origin

Harvested from century-old tea bushes growing within the protected forests of Tong Mu Guan, the tea carries a sense of depth and composure that rewards slow, attentive drinking. The finish is exceptionally long, leaving traces of sweet smoke and honey long after the final sip.

Tasting Notes

The liquor is a deep amber-gold, opening with unmistakable aromas of pine smoke, cedarwood and resinous forest air. Beneath the smoke lies a surprising sweetness, revealing notes of wild honey, blackberry and dried fruits that emerge gradually through successive infusions.

On the palate, the tea is rich, expansive and deeply satisfying. The smoke is bold yet integrated, layering with dark fruit sweetness and the depth that comes from century-old tea bushes. A syrupy texture coats the mouth, while a lingering sweetness settles into the throat long after each sip.

This is a tea to be enjoyed slowly and reverently. The old tea bushes contribute not only complexity of flavour, but a remarkable sense of calm and presence that unfolds over many infusions.

Pairs well with aged cheddar, dark chocolate, smoked almonds, roasted mushrooms and slow-cooked meats — or enjoyed entirely on its own as a contemplative fireside tea.
