A classic Japanese sencha green tea, blended cultivar. Green umami aroma, a supple palate, and a lingering finish with quiet sweetness.
Origin
Origin
Toro Ginsen Sencha is produced in Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan, crafted at the Igeta Tea Factory. Rather than relying on a single cultivar, this tea is a masterful blend designed for balance and depth—bringing together Asatsuyu, Yabukita, Yutaka Midori, Saemidori and Okumidori.
Harvested in Spring 2025, it showcases a composed Japanese sencha profile: savoury structure, aromatic lift, and a gentle nutty warmth that sits beneath the umami.
Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes
The liquor is clear yellow-green, opening with a savoury umami depth and a soft floral fragrance. On the palate, the tea is supple and rounded, with a surprising warm note reminiscent of hazelnuts that adds comfort without dulling the freshness. The finish is long and clean, leaving a lingering umami sweetness that invites another infusion.
This is a sencha for those who love structure—fresh and satisfying, with an elegant undercurrent of warmth.
Pairs beautifully with clean savoury foods, rice dishes, and lightly salted snacks that complement its umami structure.
