Origin: Lakhimpur, Assam, India

Flavour profile: Velvety | Malt | Almond milk

The Assam growing region is the largest tea-growing region in the world. It sits on a high plateau in northern India straddling the Brahmaputra River.

The Tea Estate is located on the North Bank of the Brahmaputra River, north-west of the city of North Lakhimpur, where the foothills of the Himalayas start to rise from the Brahmaputra River valley. The total grant area of Tea Estate is 2,103 acres (851 ha) with 1,248 acres (508 ha) under tea cultivation.

The growing conditions mirror a greenhouse environment and the fertile soil nourish the lush tea plants that give teas their abundant golden tips and malty brews.

Elevation: 300m

This generous malty tea is creamy on the palate delivering a flavour reminiscent of chocolate and roasted nuts with hints of baked apple.

Assam teas pair well with dark chocolate, smoked fish and meats, spiced desserts, chilli and eggs.

Try this with chipotle slow roasted beef tacos and jalapeno slaw or with a chai spiced tea cake.

Leaf appearance: Black-brown long wiry leaves with golden tips

Aroma: A sweet aroma of malt combined with nut and fruity apple notes

Liquor colour: Brilliant orange-red
