Taitung oolong is highly aromatic and smooth. It produces a sweet infusion that is reminiscent of baked peach, toasted nuts and honey.
We have been carrying Taitung Oolong since 2018 and it is a customer favourite. We previewed a couple of excellent samples of this tea this year and settled on this particular lot that showcases a layered and well structured tea liquor. This delicious oolong is enjoyable at any time of day. It is highly oxidised giving it characteristics of a black tea whilst still having the nuances of an oolong tea.
Taitung oolong is an emerging tea in Taiwan being introduced a few years ago. It was developed to provide Taitung a distinctive style that would give the tea farmers a new product.
